What you should DO & NOT DO for an Interview

You Should:
  • Wear formal attire. You should look presentable, neat and clean.
  • Know the location of the Interview venue. If you are not sure, do some homework - make sure you know the time taken to arrive at the destination, how to get to the destination and if you are driving, ensure if parking is available.
  • Be early for interview. Ensure you are at least 10 minutes early - this will help you to get comfortable with the environment.
  • Look and behave confidently - Firm Handshake, Eye Contact and Smile is important.
  • Know you interviewer's name and title.
  • Ask for clarification if you are not sure of the question. Answer the questions confidently and give examples where necessary.
  • Prepare some questions to ask but avoid asking questions related to salary, off days and vacation leave - This will leave a bad impression on yourself.

You should not:

  • Give negative remarks about your previous employer or anyone!
  • Give an impression that you are not serious about the interview.
  • Show that you are desperately looking for a job.
  • Err or Umm while being interviewed - It shows that you are not prepared.
  • Fake or falsify any documents or information.
  • Slump or move too much while sitting infront of the interviewer.
