- Wear formal attire. You should look presentable, neat and clean.
- Know the location of the Interview venue. If you are not sure, do some homework - make sure you know the time taken to arrive at the destination, how to get to the destination and if you are driving, ensure if parking is available.
- Be early for interview. Ensure you are at least 10 minutes early - this will help you to get comfortable with the environment.
- Look and behave confidently - Firm Handshake, Eye Contact and Smile is important.
- Know you interviewer's name and title.
- Ask for clarification if you are not sure of the question. Answer the questions confidently and give examples where necessary.
- Prepare some questions to ask but avoid asking questions related to salary, off days and vacation leave - This will leave a bad impression on yourself.
You should not:
- Give negative remarks about your previous employer or anyone!
- Give an impression that you are not serious about the interview.
- Show that you are desperately looking for a job.
- Err or Umm while being interviewed - It shows that you are not prepared.
- Fake or falsify any documents or information.
- Slump or move too much while sitting infront of the interviewer.
